I Am

There are times in our lives when we wish we had certain characteristics. Perhaps more confidence, a calmer demeanor or a feeling of fearlessness.

To help instill these desired traits in yourself try this “I Am” exercise.

  1. Select a trait from the list above (or think of one on your own) that you would like to feel more of.

  2. Stand up straight and tall with your shoulders back, feet planted firmly on the ground and your eyes closed.

  3. For 1-2 minutes say silently in your mind, I am and whatever trait you picked. For instance, I am confident, or I am disciplined, or I am versatile. As you are repeating this silently in your mind, feel in your body how that trait would feel and perhaps imagine yourself displaying that characteristic in your life.
