Back in March I mentioned a great TED Talk by Health Psychologist Kelly McGonigal in which she discusses research that indicates how a simple mind shift in how you view stress may save you from the detrimental effects it can have on your health and longevity.
A couple weeks ago I was at a conference and had the great opportunity to hear her speak. In her presentation she suggested 3 stress mindset shifts to help you get good at stress. These are different ways to think about stress that studies have shown actually change the physiological response that stress has to a more positive one. The next time you are in a stressful situation, try to think of one or all of the ideas below. Just a simple mindset shift can have an incredibly positive impact.
For more information on the studies and her work check out her book - The Upside of Stress: Why Stress Is Good for You, and How to Get Good at It.
