I was recently listening to the Eventual Millionaire podcast by Jaime Tardy. On this episode she was interviewing Hal Elrod, the author of the book The Miracle Morning. One of the key aspects to his “Miracle Morning” is visualization. He explained his technique for visualization, which is a bit different from the way many of the gurus teach it.
He explained that when most people visualize they picture what the end result is going to look like – the book they have written, the fit body, the large bank account balance, etc. He explained that this is the long-term vision and he reinforced the important of visualizing the specifics of the end result. Yet during his visualizations he also visualizes what he needs to accomplish successfully in the short-term (like today) to move him closer to achieving the goal.
So if your goal is to write a book, picture yourself in front of the computer typing out page after page of the book and feeling excited about the information you are documenting. For the goal of a fit body, picture yourself in the gym lifting weights, feeling strong and healthy as you do it. And, finally for the large bank account balance, picture yourself working diligently at your job that day completely focused on delivering a valuable product or service to your customer.
This week I encourage you to try out this technique. Each day during your visualization sessions, visualize the successful achievement of the end goal. Then visualize yourself successfully completing the task you need to get done today (or tomorrow if you are visualizing before you fall asleep) to achieve that goal.
Wishing you success in all aspects of life,
