Prosperity Picture

Visualization isn’t just for your health.  You can use it for your wealth as well.  In their book, Picture Your Prosperity: Smart Money Moves to Turn Your Vision into Reality, Ellen Rogina (CPA, CFP) and Lisa Kueng encourage their readers to create a visual depiction of what their future will look like when they have achieved their financial goals.

They have used this technique with many of their clients and have seen again and again how having this vision mapped out and visualized on a frequent basis contributes significantly to the realization of those goals.

As with any visualization you must first start out with thinking about the details of the goal.   Once you have the wealth you desire, what will you be doing?  Some questions you might want to answer while you are developing your prosperity picture include:
  • What type of house will you be living in?
  • What car will you be driving?
  • What recreational activities will you be participating in?
  • What restaurants will you be dining at?
  • What stores will you be shopping at and what will you be buying?
  • Where will you travel?
  • What charities will you be supporting?
  • What types of gifts will you be giving to family and friends?

It may help to brainstorm a list of all the things you will do when your prosperity picture has come to fruition.  Once you have that long list, narrow it down to 2-3 of the most important items.

Once you have those items, use one of your visualization sessions to play them out vividly in your head.  As you have done with other visualizations, remember to incorporate all the key components of any effective visualization including the sights, sounds, smells, tastes, touch, feelings, and emotions.

Take 10-15 minutes this week to develop your prosperity picture and begin to incorporate this visualization a day or two each week during your daily visualization practice.

Wishing you success in all aspects of life,
