This past weekend, as I was sitting in Church waiting for the service to begin I was thinking about the various religions that are practiced throughout the world. I realized that, although there are many different beliefs and customs that make the religions unique, there are some consistent tenets in just about all of them. It is these principles that are the most important. Just a few of them include faith, love for others, and prayer.
Prayer is communication with God. During my pray practice I, like many others in the various religions throughout the world, take time to thank God for all the wonderful blessings he has bestowed upon my family and me. After expressing gratitude I take time to ask for continued blessings and others things I hope to become or achieve in my life. These two aspects of a typical prayer session are practiced by millions of people of various religions all around the world.
It is the second half of the prayer practice I want to draw your attention to here. For this is simply another form of visualization. With this you are taking time in the silence of your mind to ask for and envision what it is you desire in your life.
This realization further solidified my belief in the power of visualization. For it is an approach that has been taught by just about every religion for thousands of years. The name may be different (prayer instead of visualization) but the concept is the same.
I encourage you, the next time you take a moment to pray to your Higher Power, to spend a portion of that time expressing gratitude and the balance of the time asking for and visualizing what it is you desire.
Wishing you success in all aspects of life,
