What goals have you set in your life? Do you have one of those B-HAGs (Big Hairy Audacious Goals) that you really want to achieve but have little to no idea how in the world you are going to accomplish it? An article from the Harvard Business Review has a suggestion for you.
“A recent review of 75 papers revealed that imagery can help in several ways: In addition to helping to focus your attention by stimulating attentional networks in the brain, imagery can actually help your brain to map your path to your goal outside of conscious awareness. Imagining activates brain regions that can unconsciously map your path to success. Not knowing ‘how’ doesn’t actually matter, since the brain will figure this out once you let it know where you want to go.”
The author, Srini Pillay, M.D., CEO of NeuroBusiness Group and Assistant Clinical Professor at Harvard Medical School suggests taking the following two steps to help you navigate your way to achieving that B-HAG.
By completing this process Pillay says you are, “feeding your brain graphic information so that it can help you chart your path to your goals.”
