Do you sleep on your back, on your stomach or on your side? A recent study published in the Journal of Neuroscience has discovered that one of these positions is better than the others when it comes to brain health. And because good sleep habits are so critical to your health and happiness it is important to take note.
At night, while you are getting some shut-eye your brain is eliminating various waste products. Some of these waste chemicals are associated with diseases such as Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s. The study found that the side sleep position, “most efficiently clear our brain of metabolic waste products that build up while we are awake.”
