Below is a great list to help you assess your health habits. This comes from Edward Phillips, MD who was another great speaker at the Mind Body Medicine Conference I attended in October. In respect to your personal habits, label the following as true or false…
How did you do? The more “trues” you had, the better your prospects for a long life and great health well into the future.
If they weren’t all true for you that’s ok. How about this week you take a step in the direction of better health by identifying one of the items you answered false to and begin to put into practice some small action that will move you closer to being able to answer that with a true response the next time you take this quiz?
Perhaps you could go for a brisk 30 minute walk, have at least one vegetable or fruit at each meal, or go to bed 15 minutes earlier than you normally do? Even small steps like this will pay big dividends in the future.
One additional resource that Dr. Phillips recommended which I want to share is this free mini podcast - The Magic Pill: A Daily Dose of Get-Up-And-Go - http://www.wbur.org/magicpill. Check it out today!
