I was recently listening to a podcast interview with Jack Canfield, the author of the Chicken Soup for the Soul Series and one of my favorite books, The Success Principles. During that Podcast Jack discussed his visualization practice which he consistently does each morning for 20 minutes.
One aspect of his visualization process is to create notecards for each of the goals he has set. On one side of the notecard is a picture that is a visual reminder of the goal. On the back is an affirmation about that goal.
For instance, if your goal is to lose 20 lbs., on one side of the card paste a picture of yourself at a time when you were 20 lbs. lighter or a picture of another individual who is in fantastic shape. On the back write the words, “I am healthy, physically fit, have an abundance of energy, and am feeling great!”
Each morning during your visualization session take a close look at the picture on the front and imagine that being you presently. Then flip the card over and read the affirmation several times. Once that is complete close your eyes and clearly visualize yourself as having already lost the weight - study your new lighter self in the mirror, listen to your friends and family complimenting you on how great you look, experience the feelings of confidence, pride, great health and abundant energy.
Once that is complete, move on to the next card with a different goal.
This week, I challenge you to try out this process with just one of your goals. Then use the comments section below to let me know how it went.
Wishing you success in all aspects of life,
