A Short Course in Visualization - The Final Week

Today begins the final 7 days of your daily commitment to (1) review and visualize your goal and (2) take a small step toward that goal.

I hope you have found the tips I provided the past couple of weeks helpful and are enjoying the sense of accomplishment each day as you complete the visualization and the small action step.

Once the week is over it will be time to celebrate.  Reward yourself for the consistent execution of this task all month long - you deserve it!

This "patting yourself on the back" is a great habit to get into whenever you set a goal.  Looking forward to a reward keeps you committed to the objective as the last few days wind down.

To determine your reward set your smartphone timer for five minutes.  During that time do nothing but make a list of things you enjoy.  These items don't have to be extravagant.  Things like the following could be included: dinner at your favorite restaurant, buying a book you have been wanting to read, going to see a movie; etc.

Once the five minutes is up.  Review your list.  Select one of the items as your reward at the end of the week.  Now write that item on a separate sheet of paper.  Post that paper somewhere in which you will see it often.  This visual reminder of the reward in store for you will keep you committed these last few crucial days.

Best of luck in the final week!

Wishing you success in all aspects of life,

Last week I watched the Charlie Rose program. His guests were Michael Phelps and Coach K from Duke. They both discussed the visualization technique in swimming and basketball. Phelps said he visualized how he wanted it to go, how he didn't want it to go, and how it could go. Very interesting. Thanks for your weekly inspiration!
