At a recent conference I heard a great speaker, Rita B. Allen, offer 5 tips and strategies to help you develop the four aspects of EQ. I topped our high school entrance exam but the moment I took college entrance exams, I did not even make it to the list. I did not really fail but how come someone who is supposed to have a high IQ not be able to choose what course to take in college because she didn't make it to the student's with the highest scores? I guess if we don't take a close watch with our EQ or emotional intelligence, we lose focus and we end up not maximizing our full learning potential.
